NSW Central Coast Photographer – Saving Zali

In May last year I was asked if I could take some family photographs at Avoca Beach. Luckily I was available and we organised a date to take the photos.  When I met this amazing family, I was blown away by their story and their courage. Lisa was then writing a book about their beautiful daughter Zali, who at 18 months of age was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of cancer that is resistant to chemotherapy. Zali was given very little chance of surviving and the family were told to say their goodbyes. Zali is now a beautiful, happy 6 year old thanks to some quick thinking doctors, extreme medical treatment and her amazingly strong family who never gave up. More of Zali’s story was in yesterday’s Daily Telegraph which you can read here. Lisa’s book is published by Pan MacMillan Australia and will be available in bookstores on 1 April 2014.

When the publisher called me to say that they had seen my photographs and would love to use one as the cover of Lisa’s book I was so excited. To see my photo on such an inspirational book means the world to me. And they have included another family image inside the book too. My copy arrived in the mail today and I’m so excited to start reading this amazing family’s story.
