NSW Central Coast Photographer – Panning

My April ‘Once a Month’ project is a technique called Panning. Panning is where the image suggests motion, a fast moving car, a runner, a bike rider etc. The background will be blurred to create the movement while the subject is the main focus. A couple of years ago I took a panning shot of my husband riding a pushbike up our street. It was so much fun but I haven’t really tried again since then. I’m currently taking an online workshop with Deb Schwedhelm and she is pushing us to try new things, explore ourselves and create the photographs we love to create. I’m being challenged so much and I’m loving it. I can see my photography style evolving to something that I am so passionate about. I used the Panning technique for this weekend’s exercise and I’ve remembered how much fun it is to really push yourself and try new things. I’m so excited about what the future holds for my photography work!
