NSW Central Coast Photographer – After the Rain

Today has been a fantastic day for me. A trip to our local waterfall in the morning followed by a 13km run in the sunshine finishing at the beach where my girls were surfing with their dad. The excitement on Alice’s face when I arrived at the beach was infectious. She couldn’t wait to tell me and then show me how she can now paddle onto a wave by herself and doesn’t need as much of her dad’s help anymore. We’ve been showing her Youtube videos of some pretty awesome female surfers and skateboarders and she was keen to try out some new tricks on her surfboard that she’s seen the professionals do. Some days it’s hard to believe she’s only 5 years old. There are so many good female role models out there in the world, the sky really is the limit for our girls.  We are constantly telling them both that they can do anything they want to.

Yesterday and last night we experienced some pretty wild weather with lots of wind and rain. This morning decided to take advantage of the blue skies and sunshine and check out our local waterfall, Somersby Falls. We weren’t disappointed, with lots of water rushing over the falls. Don’t forget to check out our little video at the end of the post (music is Open Season by High Highs).

Mary - Your video is wonderful Kathryn. I love Somersby falls but never been luck enough to see it flowing like that. Sounds like the perfect Sunday x
