Farewell Tabulam

This will be my last post from Tabulam. It’s been a whirlwind of emotions the past month with preparing to move, leaving another amazing school and Alice finishing Primary school.

Both girls really excelled at St Mary’s. We loved the school and wish we could pick it up and move it to the Central Coast. Their teachers go above and beyond what you would expect and the whole school community was more than we could have hoped for. It was hard to say goodbye to their teachers and friends – they both made some beautiful friendships while they were there.

I was also sad to say goodbye to my work family and can’t thank them enough for believing in me and giving me the courage to get back into the workforce. I have loved working and getting to know the students and families. I will certainly miss them all.

We had a quiet, restful Christmas Day spent in Byron Bay with a picnic on the beach. We were lucky with the weather and the water temperature was perfect for swimming.

We’ve almost got the house completely packed up, just have some last minute cleaning jobs to do before the removalists arrive on Thursday. They plan on spending the day packing and then we’ll leave on Friday and head back home.

The next time you hear from us will be once we’ve settled back into our old home.

Tabulam, you have been so good to us for the past 3 years. We have learned and experienced so much but it’s now time to go home.
