Early January saw us farewell our beautiful old house that we’d lived in for 3 and a bit years. We said farewell to dear friends, the river and the cows and moved back home.
The end of the school holidays were a bit of a blur, with unpacking boxes, trying to get into a routine and catching up on appointments. It has been so good to be back in our own home and our old neighbourhood. Not much has changed, a couple of new faces in the street but mostly everyone is the same. We’ve loved being back near the ocean and getting home early from school means we can do trips to the beach on warm afternoons.
The girls have settled into school really well. Alice seems to be enjoying the changes that come with High School and she comes home every afternoon with a smile and a story for us. She’s made some lovely new friends and left for a 2 night camp today which will help form more friendships I’m sure. She’s keen to get involved in the different sports and activities being offered.
Lucy has slotted straight back into her old school with her old friends and seems to be happy. She’s putting her name down for lots of different activities. Softball, dancing, drama and plenty more. Last week was her swimming carnival and she was very excited to receive a 4th place in Backstroke.
Both girls were keen to get back to gymnastics and have enrolled back at their old gym 3 afternoons a week. They’re hoping to learn their routines enough to be able to compete this year. They both decided they wanted to go back to Artistic Gymnastics rather than Acro this year to build their strength and skills back up. It’s so good to see them with big smiles on their faces and doing all kinds of flips and tricks when I go to pick them up at the end of their lessons.
I was lucky enough to be offered 3 days casual work last week at a local high school and I’m hoping I get some more offers in the coming weeks.
We’ve certainly hit the ground running since we’ve been back home and are all very happy.
